Recommended Websites License Plate Installation Tips A vehicle license plate, also known as registration plate, is usually made of a metal or plastic plate attached to a vehicle for official identification purposes. A license has a numeric and or alphanumeric code. Almost all countries around the world use this kind car identification system installed at the front and back of a car. It also gives all the information about the vehicle such as the make, model, color, year of manufacture, engine size, vehicle identification (chassis) number and the name and address of the vehicle's registered owner. Netherlands was the first to introduce a national license plate called a driving permit. Many find it difficult to install a license plate especially if their cars do not have a license plate holder mounted on the bumper. But license plate installation is not that hard if you know exactly how to do it. In fact, you can finish the job in a matter of minutes. Here are a few tips that you can follow to properly install a license plate: 1. When installing a vehicle license plate, you need some basic tools such as screws and screwdrivers for plate attachment. Installing plate on the back and front of your car is the same. 2. Consider using a plate holder. The purpose of plate holder is for security and to prevent burglars from stealing your plate. Each license plate holder is different but the concept of installation remains the same. If a screw will not work, try using a bolt and nut to attach your plate. 3. If you’ve chosen a frame to enclose the plate in, fit it in the frame before attempting to attach it to the car. Bear in mind that the proper position for license plates is in the center of the bumper. Every automobile has pre-drilled holes for attaching plates. Locate them on your car before you screw the plate into position. 4. Make sure to screw it tightly. Tug on the license plate to ensure it's on securely. Automotive Sites: |
